I am an IT and Internet law specialist and have more than two decades of experience in the field.

I advise clients on all areas of the law affecting information technology and digitalisation, with a focus on IT contracts, data protection, data sharing and e-commerce.

Companies along the entire internet value chain rely on my advice, chief among them are platform operators, Internet service providers (ISPs) and innovative start-ups. I also advise companies from other sectors on their path to digitalisation and implementation of new technologies like blockchain, data analytics and Artificial Intelligence. I have a particular focus on advising international life science companies on data protection and GDPR compliance.

I’m also helping businesses and associations involved in legal and political decision-making on digitalisation at national and European levels. I’m familiar with the legislative processes for national and EU levels.

Furthermore, I am serving as president of eco (www.eco.de), the association of the Internet industry, and I am chairing the data protection committee of EuroISPA (European Internet Service Providers Association, http://www.euroispa.org) in Brussels.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and keeping up with my favorite soccer team—the Hamburger SV — preferably live, at the stadium.
